Wellbeing
At Keira High School, we care about both learning and wellbeing. We want every student to feel safe, included, and ready to learn each day.
Our Wellbeing Team is led by Head Teacher Vicky Vlahakis, alongside our Year Advisers, Student Support Officers, and School Counsellors. Together, they deliver a wide range of high-quality programs and initiatives, including:
- Cyber Safety and Cyberbullying workshops
- R U OK? Day
- White Ribbon Day
- Purple Ribbon Day
- Physical and Social Wellbeing programs
- Daily food assistance through the Breakfast Club, a free service for all students
Keira High School was ranked ‘Excelling’ in its most recent external school evaluation, reflecting our strong commitment to supporting the wellbeing and success of every student.
How we support student wellbeing
Supporting each student’s mental, emotional, social and physical wellbeing is part of everyday school life.
We do this through:
- teachers who help students feel welcome and included
- access to school counsellors, school psychologists and specialist staff
- programs that support health, social skills, attendance and positive behaviour
- help for students who are new or changing year levels
- clear expectations for behaviour and respectful relationships
- staff who get to know each child and work closely with families
- developing health care plans for students
- open communication about wellbeing and support.

School Counselling Service
